British Girl's Open Amateur Championship - United Sports USA
British Girl’s Open Amateur Championship

This week Massereene Golf Club in Northern Ireland hosted one of the biggest events on the European girl’s golf calendar, The British Girl’s Open Amateur Championship. The event attracts the best young female amateur golfers from across Europe and United Sports USA had 7 clients amongst the field with many more unable to make it due to being out in the US preparing for the start of the fall season 2014.

As well as supporting current clients we were also in search for new potential candidates to gain a high level of scholarship funding at top NCAA division one golf programs. We were certainly not short of choice. The standard of play was tremendous. The weather was not in the players favor but the majority found a way to get it round the course and make the top 64 cut before moving on to the match play stages. Three of our 7 players made it to the match play stages. They were  Emma Allen, Clara Young and Emily Coleman. Well done to all three girls for fighting hard in the unforgiving conditions to get so far.  Clara and Emma were being followed by both woman’s coaches from the University of Missouri. I am sure they will be delighted that both girls will be joining the team in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Many of the top Universities had their head coaches at the event assessing the field. This allowed us to promote current clients and build more bridges with the other universities. Many coaches value our input and opinion because of the past success of our clients and new coaches were eager to introduce themselves and create working relationships.

We are on course to continue success from previous years as we have a very strong client base with many top NCAA division one coaches expressing their interest. We are also pushing to keep growing our pool of clients throughout the year so if any young male of female golfer feel they have what it takes to become a successful student athlete on a golf scholarship in the USA then contact Head golf consultant Jamie Alexander.
