Tennis Scholarships are offered at over 1800 universities and colleges across America giving student-athletes of various abilities and academic backgrounds the opportunity to enrol in higher education, whilst maintaining a full time tennis career.Collegiate tennis in the USA is played in the spring with each team having different schedules. This provides student-athletes with the opportunity to compete against the best young tennis players in America both regionally and nationally. The climate in the USA will allow players to develop in favourable weather conditions. Indoor facilities provide students with opportunities to train over the winter months.
With full-time professional coaching you will develop technically, physically and mentally. You will train using advanced methods for physical conditioning session weight and cardiovascular training and of course, on court practice for technique.
Some of the world’s top tennis players have made the transition to the professional game. Former student athletes currently on the professional circuit are; James Blake [Harvard] The Bryan twins Bob & Mike [Stanford].
Many players attend tennis academies and whilst these academies provide excellent coaching, they may not take care of your academic needs. In the long run you have to consider the risk involved if you do not enter the professional game and make a successful living from tennis.
Players will be expected to have an LTA rating or ITF ranking to have a chance of entering US system.
