Golf Scholarships

Golf Scholarship Benefits

With the opportunity to compete at the highest level against the world’s top amateur players there is little wonder that many of  the European elite amateurs are heading to the USA on golf scholarships. At the start of the 2013 PGA Tour season over 82% of its members competed at the collegiate level before turning professional. A golf scholarship to America gives you the opportunity to greatly reduce the costs of your education by representing the university or college team in USA collegiate tournaments.

As a student-athlete on a golf scholarship you have access to top class practice facilities, professional coaching and unrivalled competition. America can also offer year round golf due to its climate and the schedule your coach will set the team. Did you know that some NCAA D1 universities have their own private plane that transports player to tournaments?

Working with United Sports USA

As a client on our golf scholarship programme, you can be assured that United Sports USA will continue to exceed your expectations until you receive a scholarship offer that meets your needs. Places on our golf scholarship programme are limited to 4 male and 6 female clients for each recruiting class. You will work closely with Stewart Burke, Director of Recruitment, a former 4 year golf scholarship recipient, University Assistant Coach and Graduate to find the right University or College for you.

"At United Sports USA we can afford to be very selective when choosing to work with a player. This enables us to achieve an unrivalled level of funding for our players in an environment that they are going to be successful. I am here to provide any additional support that a client needs during the selection process. This can be extremely daunting process when deciding where to spend the next 4 years of your collegiate career. I also keep a close eye on all of our players once they leave for America and I am delighted to see them improving each year. As a former student-athlete I can honestly say that my years spent in the USA on a golf scholarship were a fantastic and an experience that I would highly recommend."

Stewart Burke, Director of Recruitment.

At United Sports USA we understand that every client has different criteria when selecting a university or college and want to make sure that we manage your expectations from day one. United Sports USA prides itself on the fact that we tailor our service to meet your needs, not ours.

Golf Scholarship Assessment Process

There will be a number of golf assessment days held throughout the year for applicants interested in obtaining a golf scholarship. United Sports USA Director of Recruitment, Stewart Burke, will also be in attendance at a number of National and Regional Tournaments throughout the year scouting prospective players. Our current handicap requirements are 1.4 for Male and 3.0 for Females.

After your assessment Stewart will sit down with you to discuss your game and the opportunities that would be available to you on a golf scholarship. On review of your academics, if you meet our criteria, you would then be offered a place on our scholarship program.
