Scotland soccer assessment match

United Sports USA 3 V 1 Ardgowan FC U17’s

Scottish Assessment Match USU V Inverkip FC (640x480)

All the staff and clients at United Sports USA would like to thank Ardgowan FC coach Johnny Steele and his staff for providing opposition to our male soccer clients at our Scottish soccer assessment match on Sunday 18th May at The Excelsior Stadium, home of Airdrie FC. It was a terrific day, matched by the weather for a change !

In tight first 30 minute period United Sports USA took the lead through Kyle Bellu on 15 minutes. Ardgowan FC worked tremendously hard during the match and scored a deserved equaliser just before the end of period 1.

Period 2 seen both teams cancel each other out and which resulted in no further scoring.

Period 3 seen the game liven up with United Sports changing formation to 4-4-2 and this had the desired effect when Jonathon McGrath, ex St.Mirren striker put USU into a 2-1 lead with a tap-in effort after a good save by the Ardgowan goalkeeper.

Shortly after his first goal McGrath lotted home his 2nd on the 78 minute made to game secure for United Sports USA with a fine finish into the bottom left hand corner of the Ardgowan goal.
