The latest golfer to begin her journey on becoming a student athlete in the United States was young Chloe Thackery from Essex, England. Chloe accompanied by her mum Joanne flew in from London to Glasgow yesterday to meet United Sports USA staff. Following the initial conversation it was clear to see that Chloe was not only serious about being an athlete but also about being a successful student. Chloe has the intentions of studying psychology when she gets to university.
Chloe and myself went on the course for 9 holes. This helped me evaluate if Chloe was at the right level to pursue a golf scholarship in America. I was very impressed with Chloe’s performance. She proved that she has what it takes to continue to improve and grow as a player. What made it even more impressive was that Chloe has only been playing for 3 years and in that time has won her club championship twice.
At United Sports USA we are delighted that Chloe has decided to come on board. We believe that through continued hard work and the great support she has from her parents,Chloe will have many options provided to her by the coaches in the US.
