Meet the Mewis Sisters

Thursday, November 03, 2011
With the college regular season coming to a close, we thought this was a good time to dip into our Video Vault and pull out this gem featuring (with apologies to the DiMartino sisters) perhaps the two most successful sisters in U.S. Youth Women's National Teams history, Kristie and Samantha Mewis. Both are having extremely successful college careers so far. Kristie is a junior at NSCAA 17th-ranked Boston College and Sam is a freshman starter at NSCAA 7th-ranked UCLA.

Both played in the 2008 U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand and the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany, the first sisters to play together in a World Cup for the United States -- and they've done it twice. Kristie is currently trying to work her way into the picture for the senior side while Sam has another cycle with the U-20s in front of her. Check out our Soccer Scholarship page.
